One of my problems with the Constitution is they did not put any consequences or remedies for judges and politicians who break their oaths and issue idiotic rulings. With the current situation, we have only the ballot box to get rid of totalitarian politicians and it isn't working.
For the judges, we have mostly no recourse whatsoever. Lifetime appointments, protected status, they can sit there in their bathrobes and issue all of types of moronic rulings knowing they cannot be touched.
As Lysander Spooner said, all the way back in 1867:
“But whether the Constitution really be one thing, or another, this much is certain - that it has either authorized such a government as we have had, or has been powerless to prevent it. In either case it is unfit to exist.”
