Another decidedly pro-gun GOP congressman, Thomas Massie of Kentucky, was downgraded from an A to a B, seemingly because he got cross-wise with the NRA from the right. Last year, Massie vocally opposed the Fix NICS Act, which offered incentives to states to increase data submissions to the federal background check system. The Bloombergians have done us a service here. This business of hiding ratings allows Fairfax to feed members all kinds of BS and then makes it easy to cover their tracks when a grade blows up in their faces.

More and more, the NRA is showing a resemblance to the SPLC: a fund raising organization masking itself as a defender of civil rights.
