But LaPierre retains a substantial amount of support from his board of directors. [More]That is wholly enabled by eligible-to-vote members who either don't or who look no further than "Nominating Committee" manipulation and vote with the herd.
And the blindness to the end, exemplified by Carolyn Meadows' repudiations of insider critics, will further cripple the association as donations dry up.

Given what you know now, what do you think of Cotton and Lee?
ReplyDeleteI don't know them; never even heard of them.
Anyone defending the indefensible is a liability. If they're entrenched in Fairfax, they've been part of the problem.
ReplyDeleteAnd now the Old Guard is striking back with the arguments that it was the duty of the Board members to keep themselves apprised of what was happening in the organization; and that any one of them could have called for a roll-call vote on LaPierre and none did. It’s the venerable military principle of “I’m responsible because it happened on my watch.” and if anyone should understand that, it’s West. The bottom line is that the Board legally controls the organization, and if they let it get out of control, they are responsible.
ReplyDeleteAgreed.
ReplyDeleteAll I needed.
Thanks!
Didn't Oliver North attempt to get LaPierre to resign? I think he and West are friends.
