CRS NICS Report

A report issued Oct. 17 by the Congressional Research Service providing lawmakers with a detailed analysis titled "Gun Control: National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) Operations and Related Legislation," has been posted. [More]

Of special note: Three gun-grab bills and some info on "false positive" denials.

I've written about CRS and FAS before, both here and on Ammoland (ATF funding and bump stocks). That most gun owners typically yawn and move on is something I've had to learn to sadly expect.

NOTE: This post has been revised to reflect that CRS reports are now available on the CRS website. Previously, they were pretty much reserved for members of Congress and I would get copies from the Federation of American Scientists.
