A 'Grassroots' Organization

A gun safety group seeking a change of state law in Ohio to require background checks on virtually all guns sales said Friday that it now plans a 2021 ballot issue. Ohioans for Gun Safety was cleared in July to begin collecting signatures ... [More]
How were they cleared? Who are these guys?

They claim to be "a grassroots organization."

Pretty slick website. Why register by proxy?

And how are these "grassroots" activists going to get all those signatures if, after years, they only have about 6,000 Facebook followers and 260 Twitter followers? Cyber-pals ain't exactly boots on the ground.

They're registered with the state of Ohio through an agent who also represents other lefty groups.

But at this point, neither 990 Finder nor  Guidestar has any nonprofit tax filings to share, although the first search hit on the latter is for "Everytown."

I looked into these people two years ago, and they were just as shadowy then. And some years before that I warned about a centrally-directed and financed Bloomberg plot to quietly establish such "grassroots organizations" throughout the land.

Looks and feels like Astroturf to me. Now the question is will anyone use this information to let Ohioans know they are being used by out-of-state moneyed interests hiding who they are from them and who want to swindle them out of their rights?
