We'd Just as Soon Not Allow Our People to Choose for Themselves

U.S. Approves an At‐Home COVID-19 Test—But Four States Ban It [More]
I have to wonder if the concern is really over safety and efficacy or if it's because knowing would cause more people to seek treatment from already overburdened systems. Might there be other concerns, political ones...?

Say it works and people in Maryland, New Jersey, New York, and Rhode Island die as a result of unnecessary delays, does anyone think outraged constituents will change party affiliations?

  1. I can't say I've been tracking Maryland, but "leadership" in the other three states has already gotten way more than their share of press for both their medical, organizational, optical, and political incompetence at handling the Current Unpleasantness. The fact that they're still running true to habit is actually somewhat endearing, at least to someone not living within a thousand miles of any of those hellholes.
