The Lackey for the Laird

In the episode, NRA instructor and member Dezarae Payne describes how her husband, Paul Payne, from whom she is separated, has since the late 1990s worked secretly to tilt board elections in favor of LaPierre. Paul Payne has been an NRA employee, administrator of the NRA Members’ Councils of California, a state affiliate, and a liaison to LaPierre. [More]
Issues of a vengeful ex and Bloomberg's Trace credibility aside, what is being reported here does not surprise me. I was heavily involved with the Westside LA NRA Members Council in the 90s and had cause to cross swords with this lackey on more than one occasion.

Questions of Wayne's "leadership" effectively sidelining NRA could not have come at a worse time but he does not dare loosen his grip. And his strategically-placed (but expendable) "loyalists" know their fates are tied with his.

  1. I wondered if Mr.Payne was on the "free suits and an intern" compensation plan until I read the linked article.

"She said that the NRA, meanwhile, has paid Paul Payne $80,000 a year, $36,000 for expenses, plus benefits and has provided him an assistant, who is paid $60,000 annually."

Speaking of interns, one hopes America's intern class have taken some personal advice from what happened to "that Ms. Lewinski."

  2. Suits, check
    Chartered executive jets, check
    Bimbo(s) on payroll, probably check
Living expenses/housing for bimbo(s), of course,
The goodwill of millions of gun owners pissed down the toilet as NRA fails to defend time and time again.
And tapping MEMBER PROVIDED FUNDS TO PAY AN INSIDE WEASEL TO SCHMOOZE THE FECKLESS BOARD OF DIRECTORS...
I believe I've got a new necktie for the vaguely French sounding scalawag, I'm sure I can get reimbursed from the 'suit' account.
