    If you look at a finer grained map, there are no red states. There are blue blobs surrounded by large swaths of red.

    The blue blobs do not create two critical items that a modern society needs to function: energy and food.

    As a Louisiana bumper sticker said during Jimmy Carter's manufactured energy crisis: "Let the bastards freeze in the dark!"
