I don't think anyone seriously thought the state would fight extradition.
Right now special attention needs to be paid to Rittenhouse's safety while in custody. I would not be assuming there aren't those on the inside with incentive to see he never makes it to trial, particularly if they fear the outcome won't be what they want.
