Speaking as someone who devoured them up until I started finding more age-appropriate literature a lot more interesting, what some of us mean is comic books were originally supposed to be for children, and not vehicles for perverted man-children to pollute the minds of impressionable youngsters with sexualized garbage and subversive "progressivism."
Kind of like "The CW" does.
And yeah, I get that the field expanded beyond children's fare and have enjoyed some of the graphic novels and manga that elder feral son Qusay turned me on to when he was growing up. The point here is that the stuff traditionally aimed at children has been engineered to screw them up. And effete, smarter-than-us Andy can only dream about punching a man capable of hitting back: He leaves that to the caped musclemen he fantasizes about.

You're funny David.
ReplyDeleteI challenge you to find that iconic B/W sd in the inside back cover where the 98lb. weakling on the beach is tired of having sand kicked in his face. If only he would take that Magic Pill!!
Okay, it was the Atlas HE-MAN ad.
While you're at it, remember X-Ray vision and the Sea Monkeys?
Please say yes. I can't be the 'Only One' right?
Just use Google.
