Thank Your Lucky Stars

Hollywood Elites and Violent Thoughts [More]
During my recent hiatus, I was switching cable channels in my hotel and saw a commercial for a bread company where the actors were all in sandwich part costumes with holes in the middle for their faces: One person was a slice of bread, another a slice of cheese, another a tomato slice...

The thought struck that most actors will literally do anything to make it big, as evidenced by decades of Harvey Weinstein's rule and the unspoken career pressure to not turn down a role based on personal discomfort -- can you imagine what would happen if an actress balked at a lesbian love scene? If one of them ever does become a "star," expect millions of mindless fans to hang on to their every "progressive" political pronouncement as if they're dispensing informed wisdom, as opposed to some narcissistic parking valet basically qualified to be a tomato slice who got lucky.

  1. Its unacceptable that they would cast a human in the role of a vegetable. Couldn't they find a tomato actor who would take the role? Didn't they learn anything from the uproar about white actors appearing in blackface?

  2. The problem with that thinking is that you end up with everybody qualified to play the ham, and nobody qualified to play anything else.
