Because it's programmed by experts at Twitter and Facebook who: #1 think its proper name is "assault weapon" to begin with, and #2 used handy common-sense programming rules such as "You don't need an AR-15 to shoot a bunny," and "These weapons are good for one thing and one thing only -- killing the greatest amount of people in the shortest amount of time."
#3 Unintended consequence, bunnies multiply, take over the world, and kill all humans.
