(a) The militia of the United States consists of all able-bodied males at least 17 years of age and, except as provided in section 313 of title 32, under 45 years of age who are, or who have made a declaration of intention to become, citizens of the United States and of female citizens of the United States who are members of the National Guard.

Meetings or not, calling the militia a militia or not, support from any LEO or not, those folks probably are ALREADY in a militia.
And they should be educated, BY US, to that fact. Its for damn sure the media and or the government aren't going to clue them in for us.
Not being aware of the tools at our disposal, and not using them to the fullest extent possible whenever appropriate is like going into the fight with a blindfold on and one foot in a bucket. That's one way to go about it. But it definitely has a negative effect on our chances of winning.
And that's the sad part.
