Would it not be simpler and more efficient for government to maintain a readily consulted list (at no cost to the inquirer) of those who are prohibited from possession of firearms detailing the reason for the prohibition? Concurrently, adopt a Constitutional Carry policy by law for all those not on the prohibited list with no taxes for features such as suppressors or automatic action? This would shift the burden of proof of qualifying status to the government along with enabling due process corrections in a timely manner for those mistakenly placed on the prohibited list.
