I'm feeling about the same amount of sympathy and urge to do something as I do for maniacs who climb into predator enclosures at zoos.

It's all good. Psaki already told us some wouldn't "want" to come back. Here they are.
The kids likely had no input here but they may die in trashcanistan.Get them out.
There is that. But there's also the question of who should die trying. You or yours? Unless we are personally willing to make that sacrifice, can we demand it of others?
Something I heard once and find myself repeating from time to time:"They're not Americans with funny accents."
