When Seconds Count

Man armed with untraceable ‘ghost gun’ shoots four bar patrons before being shot by NYPD sergeant [More]

While everyone is wringing their hands over the "ghost gun" deception (like you can just buy a ready-to-assemble "model kit"), the more fundamental question of why everyone had to wait for an "Only One" to get there is being ignored.

  1. And what possible implications are there for whether the gun he used was "traceable" or not? What difference does it make? WTF cares?

  2. The definition(s) of what qualifies as a "ghost gun" are as squishy and vague as that which define "assault weapons" and some would say intentionally so.

It is important to note that if "untraceable" is a characteristic on the list(s), then by some estimates that might define as many as 80% of the world's stock of firearms as ghost guns.

That would include that old J. C. Higgins .22 Short gallery rifle your grandad bought at the hardware store "back in the day".
