Sounds like a plea deal is in the works as the easiest course of action. I wonder if the community would stand for that had the roles been reversed.

ReplyDeleteSuspect: Upper Darby deadly shooting was not road rage, but an accident
Quoting:
Amarsingh told police he was unloading his firearm in his car while listening to loud music as he was celebrating receiving unemployment money and the gun misfired.
He told police he was reclined in the driver's seat, had a gun in his right hand and used his left hand to remove the magazine.
According to police, Amarsingh said after he removed the magazine, he pulled the weapon's slide back to eject the unfired round and the gun went off.
...
The Audi was found in the alley behind his home. Police said there was a bullet hole in the rear passenger window and the car was then impounded.
This smells.
ReplyDeleteHearing the bullet went through the shooter's rear passenger window as he "pulled back the slide to unload it," the obvious conclusion had to be that the shooter was left-handed. Yet it is also reported that he held the gun in his right hand and removed the magazine with his left, something left-handers rarely do. And the rear window itself is a red flag, as he would have had to have the gun pointed past himself.
"but the weapon went off accidentally"
ReplyDeleteRemember when negligent drivers used to be able to claim their brakes failed and get away with it?
Only those who don't understand how firearms work would make such a claim, or believe one.
As good an example of “Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.” as you're ever likely to find.
