    “eugyppius,” a European “plague chronicler,” names two recent cases of public figures in Germany arguing in complete seriousness, “If Germany lifts mask mandates and I keep masking, people will think I’m a strange eccentric, therefore Germany should not lift mask mandates.” It's now a full-blown neurosis, an actual (as opposed to name-calling) "phobia."
