Toll collectors at San Francisco's landmark Golden Gate Bridge have been issued body armor to guard against armed bandits.
That tells me that they KNOW it's gonna fail as crime prevention. Which means that they have another reason for passing it. an you say "tyranny"? I knew you could!

Did you notice the vests were described as a "psychological tool"? IOW, it will make them "feel" safer, not necessarily be safer.And "winter holiday" season? My, my, Massuh, I dasn't say Christmas.They're like an entirely different species out there.
