An off-duty Clearwater police officer who was taking a shower when his home was broken into today fired one shot at the suspect and continued to fire at the get-away vehicle as it sped away...
The question here is not so much whether or not that was the right thing to do as it is what would have happened had a non-"Only One" done the same thing?

"The burglar is black, in his 20s, 5 feet 11 inches tall and of medium build. He has a short Afro and was wearing bluejeans, gray boxer shorts, and a black hooded sweatshirt, Templeton said."
ReplyDeleteI'll bet those are gray & brown boxer shorts...now.
Hey! They actually published the "Only Ones" name.
Is it defending your home or person if you shoot at someone driving away from you?
Rule Four, maybe? When I've thought about having to engage someone anywhere on my property outside my home, Rule Four is the first thing that comes to mind.
ReplyDeleteI suppose it depends on who you are. A cop in Tempe or Mesa Az shot a woman driver in the head through her back window while whe was driving away from an auto teller window and was exonerated because he said he feared for his life.
ReplyDeleteI don't citizens are allowed to be that fearful. We are by law more courageous and held to a higher standard.
And don't any cops that read here bother with the bullshit. That's what the law says.
