It's listed in yesterday's The Wall Street Journal:

This is extremely frustrating to cover because of the limited statements mandated by Cavalry Arms' attorneys, although imagine the frustration they are going through. How in the world is BATFU able to legally take and dispose of property without a judgment? I understand seizures for evidence, but this is outside of anything I have ever seen, and I welcome comments from those with an understanding of the "Always Think Forfeiture" process.
They couldn't be more "in your face" to the entire gun owner community about this if they tried, and we need to view this latest with two things in mind:
1. This is all happening on the watch and under the authority of "The Vote Freedom First President," who gun owners put in power.
2. This is all happening at the direction of "Maximum Mike" Sullivan, and those of us who have not written our senators telling them we expect his confirmation to be opposed are not holding up our end of things.
UPDATE: Jed has good commentary on this.
I just deleted a comment that, while it didn't technically cross the line, made me uncomfortable what with recent goings-on here that I've talked about, as well as some behind-the-scenes stuff I haven't.
ReplyDeleteI ask my friends to please understand.
Hmm. It's probably the same kind of comment I was about to make. Looks like we'll soon be confronted with undeniable evidence that usefulness of the ballot box and jury box has passed us by.
ReplyDeleteWill someone explain to me who died and made the ATF's Sullivan the new King George III? Disposing of siezed property before a trial? Before even a hearing? Who do these imperial bastards think they are? Has someone taken a conscious decision to see how much we'll allow to have jammed down our throats before we gag? Or are they really that stupid?
ReplyDeleteRemember... "Always Think Forfeiture."
ReplyDeleteThis is the most discouraging -- and MOTIVATING -- thing I've read in a long time. Truly, the predations of the Redcoats are being repeated.
ReplyDeleteIt has been three weeks since I e-mailed my congressman and Senators. No replies. I was talking about the Red's Trading Post matter. Seems that that was just a warmup for this one. I literally BEGGED them to do something, anything, about the ATF and its allied federal agencies.
This is a pivotal event. It determines the course from this point forward. The rule of law, the rule of men, or the rule by "lawmen."
Washington. "A shining city on a hill."
No, wait, it's not shining, it's BURNING, and our imperial Congress fiddles and feasts while it happens.
This week, discussion of RealID for illegal immigration prevention is on the schedule, despite the fact that more illegals than ever are being turned back near the border and are not trying again. If your state doesn't paticipate in RealID, your driver's license will not be recognized as valid ID for boarding a plane or entering a federal building. Draw your own conclusions.
I conclude that the cavalry ain't gonna ride over the hill in the nick of time. They done joined the Apaches.
Since the BATFU is running their own holocaust against gun owners, dealers and manufacturers I wonder who’s going to build a museum or monument for us?
ReplyDeleteSome how we need to get the question of this raid to John McCain about a business going through this in his home state. Get this question to him on film so he can't duck it. If he ducks it then we all know how he's going to treat us.
ReplyDeleteIt's my understanding Bob Barr is going to run on the Lib ticket for prez.
Anon asks: "Since the BATFU is running their own holocaust against gun owners, dealers and manufacturers I wonder who’s going to build a museum or monument for us?"
ReplyDeleteWrong. It is WE, the armed citizenry of the United States, who will put the freedom-stealing BATfags and their collectivist masters in the dustbin of history. As I quoted over on KABA:
"Liberty lies in the HEARTS of men and women. When it dies there, no constitution, no law, no court can save it." — JUSTICE LEARNED HAND
True, BUT . . .
"When you've got 'em by the BALLS, their HEARTS and MINDS will follow." -- Charles Colson in his Nixonian incarnation.
It is past time to be considering how we grab the enemies of the Constitution by the testicles, and twist. We are slouching toward another Waco here, and the stupid pukes have no idea that THIS time, they won't be allowed to exhaust their ammo and back away without further casualties. We saw what happened to the Davidians and we now know we might as well take as many of them with us as possible.
Between now and then, we need to find some other tactic that gets their attention -- and that of their bureaucratic masters -- short of killing. Like cockroaches, they are allergic to the light of publicity. Unfortunately at the moment that's as far as my thinking takes me. How do we do that? Think, people, before we are compelled to shoot.

Thanks, David.
ReplyDeleteI think we should bring a lawsuit. I'm going to work on that.
ReplyDeleteNo lawsuit'll work boys, they're too slippery to let it affect their modus operandi. If you want to go on the offensive, use all legal channels available to push for legislation that sets up a system of strict term limits which applies to all elected officials. Two terms work for the president, two should be good for everyone else.
ReplyDeleteThose people who try to consolidate power in office are the same ones who threaten the freedom of others, since their power comes at the expense of our freedoms. The 20 year terms of some senators are shameful. How can they possibly claim to be "one of the people," when they've been removed from us for so long?
Take away unlimited terms, you significantly reduce the power of an office and restore a lion's share of the freedom to the people.
Term limits for elected employees is all well and good but what we _really_ need is term limits for the _unelected_ employees.
ReplyDeleteI cannot think of one good reason we should allow _anyone_ to work for the government long enough to "earn" a retirement check.
Term limits for the officials we vote for is not the answer. That reduces the officeholder to almost a complete figurehead, as he isn't there long enough to learn his way around and direct policy. The new rep or sen comes in and he is given a briefing, with three choices, do nothing, go nuclear, so to speak, and the third, "sweet reason" which is the path the agency wanted in the first place. One guss which will be selected.
ReplyDeleteToo much of American life is regulated by people for whom we the electorate who ostensibly hire them have only the most tenuous control over the direction this regulation takes. I mean, writing your congressman to exercise the oversight they retain as legislators is about two or three removes from real control.
Yep. Term limits means even MORE control for the bureaucrats. David Hardy once talked about the techniques Federal agencies have to keep elected and appointed officials out of their hair so they could operate how they want.
ReplyDeleteI've been ready to roll the dice on a Constitutional Convention for a few years now. There could be a provision in Article II establishing service limits on federal employees (whose numbers would be greatly reduced anyway). Hired by President Muffley, leave office when he does, reapply with his successor if one wants to continue in federal service (maybe make an exception for the Navy and Marines, based on historical and old-Constitutional precedent).
ReplyDeleteI hesitate to put too much faith in anything that smacks of "magic" solutions, but I think it might be time for a Constitutional Convention anyway.
It appears the BATF has gone BERZERK. (BATF = Bad Asses Take Forfeitures!) As a Jewess in the US, may I remind everyone that criminals are stopped by FIREARMS, not by talk? And that America wasn't won with a registered gun? That is why all REAL Americans put our 2nd Amendment FIRST!
ReplyDeleteTo be honest, I no longer put forth the effort to write letters or otherwise comment on the actions of the BATFE. Any future comment from me on the BATFE will be made at about 2700fps.
ReplyDeleteThere's only going to be one way to stop this.
ReplyDeleteEveryone here knows what that is.
