  1. Notice that "From Sept 1854 to Dec 1979, 254 officers died from wounds received in an
    armed encounter." Over 100 years; only averaging 2 officers per year, and still they need more and more restrictions placed on law-abiding citizens to keep cops safe? How many non-cop citizens died due to violence during that perod? Would the numbers show that cops are failing in their sworn duty?

  2. I'm sure many will think my point is of little meaning but I see it as the tip of the iceberg.
    The report keeps stating, "police combat" and not as it should, "armed criminal encounters". I believe the use of the word "combat" is to keep cops in the mind set that they are in the military and the enemy is joe citizen.
    Simple fact is cops are civilians just the same as joe citizen. Only thing is they don't know it and no one who is in charge will see that they are told.
    As far as the shootings go in this report. I feel its a very limited report because the criminals the cops are going up against in NYC don't have much firearm training.
