A Stark county grand jury has found no probable cause that county deputies committed any criminal wrongdoing while arresting Hope Steffey.Yeah, really.
As many as 7 male and female deputies forcibly removed Steffey's clothes inside a Stark County jail cell and left her completely naked for 6 hours.
How can we expect "The Only Ones" to do their jobs and protect us if we bind their hands and subject them to such intrusive scrutiny?
Besides, why should a grand jury have to see videos to make their decision? We've already established who owns our bodies.

Vengence.
ReplyDeleteI know there's a pale horse around here somewhere...
ReplyDeleteStark ... raving mad.
Lesson is, don't let them arrest you.
Lesson learned, loved and someday to be lived.
Khruschev smiles.
ReplyDeleteFirst I had to go outside and throw up. Then I had to wonder where do they find jurors for the grand jury, in the grave yard? Only mannequins could see the evidence in this case and vote not to indict. Now that they have gotten away with this, worse is sure to come.
ReplyDeleteI'll survive being naked for a while. They won't survive making me that way.
ReplyDeleteBill, from what I'm gathering, the jurors may not have seen the video evidence.
ReplyDeleteAnd there was mention of other videos never provided to the defense. The original video captured the scene being recorded on a cell phone--along with allegation they "dropped" her in the hallway.
Still, your point is well taken--juries by nature are generally the ones both sides can vet as being the most malleable and principle-free.
Like I said, it's a good thing the state owns us--otherwise, we'd have cause to be concerned.
If anyone ever handled my (wife, child, etc.) that way, I would not rest until I had revenge!
ReplyDeleteAnd it might take a long time...but after all, revenge is a dish best served COLD.
For what it's worth, it's hard to blame the grand jury. They have to go by the evidence put in front of them.
ReplyDeleteYes, the Sheriff in this county is corrupt. So are the prosecutors.
Hell, the attorney general had to resign.
But there is a dark grumbling here in Stark County, with shades of racism in it.
I have heared more than a few comments in the coffee shops about not the way to treat white people.
We will see what November brings...
This county is 5 to 1 Dem, after all.
But those 5 are more pissed than the 1's.
Especially when I pipe up and say, "What do you expect from a Progressive Democrat? You know, a Communist?"
Bob,
ReplyDeleteDepends on the climate. Those concrete jail cells can get pretty cold in the winter. Unclothed and uncovered for 6 hours in a stressful environment can easily cause life threatening illness.
We posted today about the grand jury. I do agree that without knowing exactly what evidence they were given, it's hard to completely blame them.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand we hope that the federal jury has full access to all evidence including all the missing tapes.
Sincerely,
Bitter
