We're the Only Ones Professionalette Enough

A District Attorney's Office investigator accidentally shot herself in the leg Tuesday as a law enforcement task force was trying to arrest a robbery suspect, authorities said.

The investigator reportedly was getting out of her car when her pistol went off. One round struck her in the leg...
Lee? Lee Paige?

Have I got a girl for you!

  2. Indeed... in over 30 years of owning guns and shooting, not one ever "went off" all by itself. I've climbed in and out of cars a million times with my gun on my hip and it never even offered to fire itself or leap out of the holster...

Sure wish someone would take pictures of this happening. I want to watch.

Instead of "smart guns," maybe they need some smarter PEOPLE.

  5. I'm starting to think it is a plot by gun manufacturers against the illegal infringements of the 2A by the cops. No, seriously, how many times do you read of a new or improved round of ammunition or firearm whose sale is restricted to "law enforcement only"?

Could that be why they seem to get all those self-firing guns?

Or it could be that they are already smart guns, They just don't like being mishandled any more than we do?

  6. Reminds me of the detectives chasing the Most Wanted pair. They unbuckled their seatbelts, unholstered their handguns, THEN rammed the car, with predictable results: cops AND guns now in the floor, one dazed, one trapped. I think that's when the bad guys killed one or both. The case is cited in police training at every academy now.
A holster is for when you need two hands for something else. One with a covered trigger guard area is a good choice.
I've never been a law enforcement professional, but I think I know how to keep from shooting myself.

  7. though I have been shot twice, I did it to myself.

  8. That should read I did NOT do it to myself. I am much more competent with a firearm, than a keyboard.
