The best example of how to deal with these unlawful stops can be seen by browsing to youtube and searching for videos posted by the user "checkpointusa". Common theme to his stops: "Am I being detained?", "Am I free to go?".
Yes, that guy is AWESOME! I would encourage anybody in those areas with checkpoints to follow his lead.
But there are even those gun owners who think this is a wonderful use of government power. Disgusting.
