A Future Murder Weapon

"There is no doubt in my mind that there was a future murder weapon in this group of illegal guns. That's a life saved and that's the goal of the police commissioner and my administration," Rice said [More].
Because we all know lives are never saved by having a gun.

Why do Nassau County "Only Ones" carry them again?

And if you don't turn them in, they'll figure out an excuse to come take them.

  1. buy bulk airsoft for $5, turn in for $20. Cha-CHING!

In Nassau, funding for the gun buyback came from money seized in criminal investigations. Police will test the guns to see if they have been used in crimes, but no one will be pursued for dropping them off.

So, the cops use stolen money to buy guns that were stolen from criminals that they won't go after. Priceless. Oh, no wait, it's HUMAN capital..

A gun is off the street, but the person who would have/did used it roams free to kill again.

  3. David, a picture of a basket that baseball bats are in at any sporting store could be the picture for your story's headline.
