Rick Levin's Anti-Gun Wit

Oh, Rick, you're so clever in your put-downs, and so well informed!

Here, have one of these. No charge, man, you earned it.

  1. "Open attacks in the heartland? Brings to mind the coveralled patriots who sat on the piers in Seattle with shotguns across their laps, waiting for the kamikaze after the bombing of Pearl Harbor."

  2. What so many of these people seem to miss is that many folks are buying weapons that will just not be available in the near future based entirely on Obama's web proclamations. Others, like me, are buying an EBR as an, "Up Yours" gesture to the lot of them.

  3. The core of his piece is completely destroyed by the fact that HR 6257 was introduced in Congress back in June, and that Obama's website names the "assault weapons ban", indicating that it's a central piece of his anti-crime plan.

I guess he was too busy making straw men to do basic research.

He thinks the entire country should pay the price for the misdeeds of single-digit minority of the population. Okay, that's not entirely accurate. He hates those that don't share his political ideology, and he is grasping for whatever commonality he can find between those people and some widely despised underclass. He's desperately trying to flesh out a working stereotype and preemptively convict his ideological opponents of a thought crime, and reduce them to a life of second-class citizenship. In other words, he's a bigot. But don't tell him that, he probably thinks he belongs to the only political class that understands bigotry enough to apply the label to others.

It's not really about the guns, it's about the Red Team. And when a representative of the Red Team is writing, it's about the Blue Team. If it wasn't about guns, then it would be about the Bible, pick-up trucks with gun racks, fetus pâté, or carbon dioxide.

  4. It is clear in his writings that he had some form of God-like power trip, along with his slide bite. He, admittedly, likes and hates guns. Confused and unable to trust himself or his feelings around guns, how could he NOT project this on everyone else?

I would feel sorry for him, but his advocacy for infringement upon my rights as some sort of balm for his own issues has only earned him contempt. Terribly sad.
