Well, That's Not Working...

The Boston Police Department's record of solving homicides has not shown improvement since 2006... [More]
Gee, there's gotta be something we can try...

It's not like we might be working the wrong end of the spectrum, or anything, and maybe it would be nice if there were fewer homicides to solve...

I know: Let's try more "gun control"!

  1. Most all cases the cops break are tips that give them the answers. The cops do little real police work and in fact we really don't need them. All the do is show up after a crime to take a report.

  2. Click on www.boston.com to see the graphic map of the locations of these murders associated with this article. A random distribution would show some clumping but with data points located all over the city. However, some sections of Boston show no murders at all, while others show a solid clump of murders - not random at all.

So, restrictive gun licensing, outlawed high capacity magazines and the weapons that use them, and a host of other legal restrictions still does not prevent gang violence where teenagers are shooting each other. Where is that damned utopia I was promised?

  3. Maybe they could start with not rejecting applicants who score too highly on the police recruit test? I mean, hey, just a thought.

I have a lot more, but some of them involve physical impossibilities.

  4. Excellent points, everyone. The murder map deal is true here, too. One well-known gang owns the neighborhood across the road from the Second Precinct station. They usually don't do any killing on their turf because the police would hear the shots and be there in five minutes (two blocks, after all). Some people would say the solution, then, is a cop living on every block.
OR... if it dresses like a gangbanger, talks like a gangbanger, has an arrest record like a banger, no more catch and release. Officer, you'll never work yourself out of a job, don't worry about that. The Elites will always have tasks for you.
