You Guys are Missing a Fight

I said yesterday I expected some controversy over this post.

I'm getting it.

As of this moment, there are 219 comments on Digg (you need to be a registered user).

And the comments over at the post itself are growing--you don't need to be registered there, so go on over and see what some of the observers are saying (particularly a defeatist who calls himself "Monsignor").

Y'know, this writing thing is maddening. As regulars here are reminded every day, I've been trying like all get-out to promote my GRE columns, and it took basically a reprint of a post I did 15 years ago to give me my biggest all-time day ever--and it's still growing.

But let me spend hours researching something I think is original, unique, important, and cue the crickets. Funny what takes.

Anyway, go on over to GRE (and Digg if you can) and enjoy (or dive into) the brouhaha.

  1. God. Not sure how many of those mouth breathers are inhabitants of the land formerly known as America, but if the majority of them are maybe the first battleground should shift to the schools instead of the courts.

As for the Canadian dbags, I sooo can't wait for the NAU cause I know where I'm taking the fight, if only to teach them a lesson.

Tempted to join digg, but expecting to have a discussion of any intelligence there would be like owning a drugged chimp and never even thinking of what might happen when it goes nuts.

If it's any consolation, David, Stephen King made a similar remark in On Writing, talking about when people tell him The Stand is their favorite book. On the one hand, he said, it's gratifying that people still like it. On the other, they're kind of saying he did his best work twenty (thirty, now) years ago. :-)

    Headed into the breach now.

  3. Stephen King did his best work then- David's blog IMO is a standout.

    Just poking at you Ken.

  4. The comments on Digg are overall fairly heartening. There are lots of morons, but more pro than con. This coming from a site that has lots of Obamanoids as registered users.

  5. David what is up with that board it keeps saying I'm using some bad words and will not allow my post to post. The post is below:

Monsignor, A few words and I'm not going to beat you up. First thing is I would rather be with God than to be ruled by the iron fist of Marxist. I'm not spooked by death, but I want to stay here as long as I can to save as many souls that I can. If I do get drawn into a fight, it will be so we can be free to live as free men so I can keep saving souls. Anyone that stands in the way of us staying free is blocking our way and too many souls will go to the land of the devil, because we lost our freedom.
Win, we will do if forced to fight. Here's something you never thought of. Where are the government people going to live? Down the street from a lot of piss off fighters? Think of all the judges, clerk of courts and tax collectors. Than the citizen cop who lives where you and the rest of us live. So are they going to drive out a lot of families from their homes and make "green zones" for traders to live in. Sounds like a rich target to me.
The system is crashing all around you and the very people doing it you want to empower more so. You need to rethink your line of thoughts because you simply do not get it.

I bet its "spooked" come to think about it. Give me a break.

  6. I don't control that, AJ--my guess is "piss" did it.

Zach--thing is, the antis have succeeded in burying the story and getting it pulled from the front page. I don't know if it's possible for supporters to "unbury" it, but as it stands now, they've derailed it--and there is a core of them going after other Gun Rights Examiners.

My suggestion is, if any of you are on Digg and haven't gone there yet, please do. Also, please consider joining and supporting the GREs.

And, of course--continue (OR START) sharing the links to these columns and post them on gun boards.

Thanks to all of you who have. To you who have not, who are regulars here, and who believe you get value from WoG and GRE, please don't let antis suppress these efforts while doing nothing to promote them.

  7. Thanks for carrying the fire for us, Dave. I tried reading the entire DIGG posting, but I don't have the stomach, or the patience, for it.

  9. I went to Digg, but could not find how to register or whatever. Any clues for a digital dummy?

  10. Arrow, try using you handle and entering an email address with something you want to say. I believe that will work. Frankly, I don't remember ever having to register but you know how that goes.
