Lead, a toxic metal that can lower the IQs of children, is the essential element in most ammunition on the market today. [More]But we see absolutely no credible correlation between expended hunter rounds and the population of unattended paint-gnawers, do we?
So the purpose of inserting that line in this story is...?
"Authorized Journalism," a toxic output that can lower the IQs of readers, is the essential element in dumbing down the electorate...
And don't you just love the category they filed this under? "Planet in Peril"
Oooh--really scary, kids...

wasn't there a study done by the FDA a couple months ago showing lead levels in hunters and their families to be lower than most people? must be a slow news day for CNN.
ReplyDeleteHow are they over looking the government schools. Where half graduate high school. Where just under 45 percent walk with a four year degree. Keep in mind that accounts for liberal arts degrees which are next to zero in value. Unless that person wants to be a government employee to dumb down children.
ReplyDeleteCheck out what is in, sweetener made from corn. About 80 percent of it has mercury in it and HFCS is in damn near everything. The FDA is protecting the children, right.
"The large birds are known to feed on scraps of meat left behind by hunters. Those scraps sometimes contain pieces of lead bullets, and lead poisoning is thought to be a contributor to condor deaths."
ReplyDelete"Thought" Apparently none went on here. Since when can someone make policy on what is "thought" to be true? If so many Condors are eating metal(that doesn't make a lick of sense), then where is the PROOF?
Also, they won't allow steel bullets to be sold since they are "armor piercing," now they want people to stop using lead because they "think" lead bullets are un-healthy.
"It's hard to imagine that you could make a bullet out of something more toxic than lead"
How about lead bullets with mercury inside? Also, the point of using lead is because it is soft enough to expand while inside the target and drop it more easily.
The big lie is on.
ReplyDeleteA home improvement show said "if your home hasn't been painted *SINCE 1974*, you don't want to power-wash it because the old paint contains lead and you don't want to release that into the environment."
1974.
Scavenger birds occasionally find a bullet in a carcass. So?Scavenger birds also eat the windshield wipers off of cars. That's a petrochemical product. The car owners suffer more than the birds. Please.
More Intolerable Acts proposed. Oh, goody. Pile them on. Mandate surrender of our stocks of lead ammunition. That will be the Green Light. We won't be quick to turn it in, but we'll turn it in fast. 1,000+ feet per second.
Like I've said before, if they ban lead in ammunition we'll all just have to switch to DU.
