The Conscience of the King

"I'm nervous, excited, honored," said Andre Holland, who plays character Jeremy Furlow, before the show. "It's like in Shakespearean times, when the king would come to the show."
"The king."

Good grief. Gushing simpleton.

And what could be more appropriate leadership in today's engineered economic collapse than this?
The White House declined to say how much the trip was costing taxpayers.
Well, since we're invoking Shakespeare:
[T]he play's the thing
Wherein I'll catch the conscience of the king.
I think we just caught it.

And how.

  1. So, would that indicate that our Soviet Premier has no conscience?

  2. I remember comedians ragging on Reagan for visiting a disaster area because the SS security preparations of course disrupted some operations. "Oh, Ron, you're so sensitive to other people's needs!" they sneered.
We have an Imperious Leader who will shut down entire city blocks for a night on the town. And be praised for it.
One can smile, and smile, and smile, and be a villain.

coming from the Administration promising "My Administration is committed to creating an unprecedented level of openness in Government. We will work together to ensure the public trust and establish a system of transparency, public participation, and collaboration. Openness will strengthen our democracy and promote efficiency and effectiveness in Government.(found at http://www.whitehouse.gov/the_press_office/Transparency_and_Open_Government/ ) it just seems like yet another slap in the face.
