We're the Only Ones "A-Hunting We will Go" Enough

Two state troopers from the Cheboygan post have lost their jobs for poaching deer while on duty. [More]
Not just hunting, but poaching.

  1. King's land, king's deer, king's men. I'm sure it made perfect sense to them, just as TSA inspectors who liberate valuables from luggage consider it a well-deserved job perk. It's stress-inducing, keeping the country safe from criminals and terrorists, you know.

  2. Many years ago I worked in a rural California county. A local deputy sheriff advised me that if I planned on doing any deer hunting that I should get my deer before the season started like the locals did (he also told me in detail how to jacklight deer, which is, I think illegal to do in California) because it was too dangerous in the woods once the hunters started coming up from the flatlands.
