What a Great Role Model
Yeah, teach those kids to flash those signs... [More]
Just what they need as individuals. Just what "the community" needs.
Although this does answer the question as to the level of maturity he exemplifies. And he could probably buy and sell the guy I talk about here a million times over--not to mention reach more sets of eyes and ears by an order of magnitude. Talk about a walking pH Factor.
Nickelodeon. It's not like I didn't peg them for what they are some time back. You know, back before their even more juvenile offshoot, Nick Jr., started brainwashing pre-schoolers into accepting The Lightworker as their lord and savior.
You know...Convert or...I mean, Obama or Die...?
You say somethin' be-otch?
We're the Only Ones Surprised Enough
Two Surprise police detectives and an officer were fired last month after they failed to cooperate with a Police Department investigation of their apparent misconduct... [More]Cooperating with police surprises "Only Ones"?
Sur-prise!
Sur-pri-yise!
I trust no one is surprised by any of this?

Curfews?
I, Homegrown Terrorist
What's this about?
This.
The documents presented look authentic. And I've run into this before.
The SPLC-indoctrinated neoMarxists in government consider people like me a threat.
Which is understandable.

Cops and Robbers
All the time cops and robbers profit while the people lose. [More]Yeah, that's pretty much it.
Red's Settles with ATF
An Idaho gun shop that went to federal court to keep the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives from pulling its gun license has reached a settlement with the agency. [More]And here's a more detailed story with the happy bottom line:
"It's over now, so Red's can keep working for another 100 years or more."Naturally, Ryan Horsley won't be able to say much more than this. But here's the thing: His reacting as he did was absolutely the right thing to do. He made noise, he got attention and ultimately, he survived. Had he not, his family business would have been quietly murdered in the dark.
Congratulations, Ryan. I'm happy for you.

26, and It's Only March
Franco Avila's stepfather believed the teen when he said he didn't want to be in a gang anymore. But as the 17-year-old left their Albany Park home Tuesday afternoon, his stepfather asked him not to go, or at least be home before curfew.Ah, see, feral sons Uday and Qusay are in twelfth and ninth grades respectively. There's no quitting a gang option for either of them, because I, well, you know...I parent them. And set boundaries. Pretty simple, really. My house, my food, my rules. Deserve trust and you'll get it. Don't, and woe unto you. I know your friends and I know where you are. Speaking of which, where are you on your homework? And clean that room.
Later that night, Avila, a 10th-grader at Roosevelt High School, was shot to death just blocks from his home. [More]
But don't worry--I'm even tougher on myself. Gotta set an example, you know.
Then you balance all that with a lot of love and a lot of laughter. Every day.
So we can see what the obvious solution to all these Chicago "students" getting shot is: Ban guns in Chicago. Don't allow gun carrying in Illinois.
Right?
Forget it Jake, it's Chi-Town.
The Martial Law Mind-Set
Some might object that this crime was committed by a soldier in an occupying army, not by a civilian police officer. That objection has merit, if only to underscore what should be an obvious fact: Our militarized government police force is an army of occupation. [More]I've had a chance to revisit over recent days The pH Factor.
I'm in awe of giants like William N Grigg, and select other liberty writers, and deem their voices to be essential ones to heed. Yet outside of the liberty movement, they remain relatively obscure.
Meanwhile, our good friends with real reach would have us believe the meaningful debate among "conservatives" is what this shallow, privileged idiot, who couldn't get a writing gig if her life depended on it without the freak advantage of her name, thinks about Anne Coulter.
I know I digressed from Mr. Grigg's article, but I wanted to get that off my chest. It has bearing because great and thoughtful writers are ignored, and dilettante poseurs are offered up as authorities. For a reason. In this case, it's to advance the leftist meme that the republicans aren't socialist enough. And Meghan McCain and her old man are just the useful idiots to advance it.
And while everybody is distracted by the sleight of mind sideshow, the occupiers fortify their positions.

Banning the Pocket Knife?
Sure. There are all kinds of knife laws on the books. And people trying to fight them.

Wrong Reactions to Shooting Sprees Make Us More Vulnerable
[I]t is clear that an evil, abnormal freak's actions are being manipulated to make the rest of us even more vulnerable to such monsters.Today's Gun Rights Examiner column follows up on the Alabama shooting spree, looks in on the Brady blood dance, highlights an interesting fact about the killer, and wonders just what the hell the Army is doing in Samson. It also includes links to related columns by my GRE colleagues.
In the name of public safety... [More]
