Zoey was a mutt adopted from an animal shelter in 2003.And naturally, the department mouthpiece "declined to identify by name or length of service" the "Only One" involved.
She had never bitten anyone, her owners said, although she'd always bark at visitors who came to their 10-acre property in Commerce City.
About 3 p.m., Wednesday, Zoey was shot dead by a Commerce City police officer. [More]
More and more I just can't see dialing 911 for anything other than a fire or an ambulance. In terms of a cop response, it's just too dangerous. Elder feral son Uday made a similar observation yesterday--he was watching one of those cheesy "reality TV" cop chase shows, and noticed that in every instance, the stolen cars ended up cartoon totaled.

I'm surprised the cop didn't shoot a kid too, since she's obviously a little trigger-happy. Maybe she could go back and make a dumb assed arrest for people having a bad attitude. Maybe she needs a late-night, unannounced visit, too.
ReplyDeleteI do not own a dog but this much I will promise. Whoever steps onto my property and shoots one of my pets is subject to die where they stand!!! I could care less about the uniform that they are wearing. I'm so damn sick of this attitude from LEO's and their bosses who back them up.
ReplyDeleteThis type of thing happen way too much. LE feels free to 'send a message' by writing a bunch of tickets for speeding or seatbelt violations. Pet owners need to send a message right back. An eye for an eye!!!!!!!!

She would have left my property in fine shape, except for where her head used to be.
ReplyDeleteCops can shoot your dog dead with impunity, but let a"perp" harm one of their K-9s, and they treat it like you assaulted or killed an officer. Nice double standard, pigs!
