Easy Pickin's

Police are asking for the public's help to identify a man accused of robbing two 7-Eleven stores while armed with a long kitchen knife. [More]
Why not? It's not like Southland Corp. is going to do anything about it.

Meaning it's going to continue to happen*all*the*time.

Hell, they go out of their way to ensure such outcomes.

It seems fair to ask who are they making their stores "convenient" for?

And why should the public help people unwilling to help themselves?

  1. By encouraging robberies, the idiots at Southland Corporation attract thugs to the neigborhood a store serves thereby endanagering people who are not employees.

  2. A young couple had car trouble and pulled into a gas station parking lot. A bystander offered to call for help on his cell phone. They declined, and he then pulled a gun and robbed them.
The police interviewed on TV said "Don't offer resistance. Give the perpetrator what he wants."
I'd give him lots of the lead bullets my EPA wants to ban.
Convenience store clerk is a more dangerous job, statistically, that being a soldier. And the rules of engagement suck WAY more.

  3. Shouldn't the NRA be on that first list? They really should be honest and put themselves on their own list.

  4. Iowa fair ground rules seem to be at odds with the Iowa Code. Part 724.4-1i and 724.28

The only areas where a "carrying or possession" by a weapons permit holder is not allowed by Iowa Code is defined under "724.4A Weapons free zones" As used in this section, "weapons free zone" means the area in or on, or within one thousand feet of, the real property comprising a public or private elementary or secondary school, or in or on the real property comprising a public park. A weapons free zone shall not include that portion of a public park designated as a hunting area under section 461A.42. (all state parks and preserves)

724.28 Prohibition of regulation by political subdivisions.
A political subdivision of the state shall not enact an ordinance regulating the ownership, possession,

  5. Down Texas way, the police would not have to ask help identifying the perp; he would be the guy laying face down in a large, sticky pool of liquid at the threshold of the doorway/
