Are they talking about the Browning-DESIGNED but COLT-manufactured Government Model .45? Or am *I* the ignorant one? Reporters hardly know which end goes downrange. But wait, this is an EDITORIAL WRITER, and they're supposed to be rilly, rilly, like, smart and stuff. I see their parent company filed Chapter 11 in January.
Sic semper tyrannis. It's what happens when you tell the people they're too stupid to be trusted with freedom.
Just my opinion, but naming a state gun just seems silly. Not because it's a "killing tool", like Lefty sez; just because it's unnecessary. There are state trees, state flowers, state birds, etc, but these are all things native to the state, found there when we settled in those states. Guns (and other man-made things) don't belong to a state the way the natural things do.
However, if the legislature wants to, let them go ahead and name a state gun.
