GUNRUNNER has been well known. For a long time. See those "Journalist Guide" icons in the left margin of my WarOnGuns blog? Guess where I got the cover art to modify from? And Gunrunner is NOT synonymous with Fast and Furious--that was a component strategy presented as a sting op. that turned out to be something else. [More]This morning's Gun Rights Examiner commentary attempts to contain some misconceptions that are spreading like wildfire.
I would not doubt that this administration wants to create confusion over this whole thing. Make it confusing and irrelevant to the the average Joe.
ReplyDeleteI have been following how Fox (the only cable station I can barely stand) is covering F&F. Slowly like molasses it is gaining traction. Bret Baier has been giving it more frequent coverage. Just last evening the viewers now voted it by a majority to be covered. BUT the panelist Kirsten Powers who is a liberal mouthpiece for the WH does her best to sweep it under the rug.

david , I have been web surfing over at Newsvine for a few months( an obvious liberal site , connected to MSNBC) that a smattering of Anti gunners tend to spout their issues , as well as a few political activists talk about F&F , and invariably they always confuse Gunrunner with gun walker , pointing out runner was started under the Bush admin , trying to paint it as if this gunwalker incident is one and the same and was started by Bush . Of course after clearing up the difference in names , and pointing out the starting dates for each operation , and getting the correct information out the discussion changes , We all have to do our due dilligence and correct the misconceptions when we see them.
