"Tell me again why any interactions with the blue gang shouldn't be treated as an incipient lethal assault and responded to as such?"
Because the survival rate for those who do is very low, whether at the initial event or during the subsequent "arrest"/retribution/execution. Those who do survive are very rarely exonerated, as the "cop killers" must prove their innocence, despite the legal tradition of "innocent until proven guilty". There is no benefit of the doubt for you. You are "armed and presumed dangerous", and are hunted and found either alive or preferably to law enforcement, dead. In a situation where it is your word vs. theirs, you do not have much chance unless it is directly observed by a better qualified and more trusted witness, such as a state officer, Federal officer, or a judge who can refute the police officer's statements. Dead men make no statements. However, video cameras that record the event and recordings that survive do enable juries to make their own conclusions that may differ substantially from the arrest report.
For an example of how things can turn out, see http://www.snopes.com/crime/cops/judd.asp. In this example, the conduct of the man who was pulled over by the deputy sheriff cannot be justified by the facts determined after the event.
You must remember that these encounters are not fair, unlike "rock paper scissors". Like encountering a dealer of "Three Card Monte", you are at a distinct disadvantage, which is compounded with tragic consequences if you act with violence. When you play Blackjack, the house always wins in ties. Law enforcement are the house.
So Ed, does this mean that we should just shut up and accept the hand that is dealt to us via law enforcement???
I'm glad that your kind wasn't on the Green on April 19, 1775!!!
I understand from your viewpoint that we must never strike back because somebody could get hurt. It's ultimately better to accept the death threat and live to see another day, right???
Historically we are so lucky that the Jews never defended themselves because then Hitler would have been really mad!!
I viewed Ed's comment as an analysis of a reality we all need to be aware of as a matter of simple survival, and he's got it nailed. We are all free to independently act accordingly knowing the truth he stated, but going after him for stating that truth, killing the messenger and reading words he did not say to make a judgment about his "kind" is uncalled for.
Nobody is talking about being a "cop killer". Neither I nor others want to see innocent leo people hurt.
I do take exception when your average Joe is having his face caved in or his children and/or pets shot because he did not respond correctly or police were at the wrong address. Video cameras do not bring the dead back to life. Average citizens who record the leo face an ever growing retribution from police. The chances of their video surviving until a court case is heard is slim at best.
I follow your site on a daily basis and watch the insanity that is foisted upon citizens by the power freaks. Are you not tired of this yet??? When is enough going to enough?? Do we ever take the position of our Founding Fathers and actually put our weapons to our shoulders and fight back???

Take your last three questions. Now suppose I asked them of you. How would you answer them?
