ReplyDeleteIt's sort of like that scene towards the end of Mutiny on the Bounty, where the crown, as part of a decision to have a kinder, gentler Navy, decides to pardon the Ensign while hanging the ordinary seamen they captured.
The class distinctions must be maintained even when dispensing justice. I have no doubt that the pawns in this gun walking scheme will still go down for their part while the hand that moved the pieces goes on to other games.
