Candle in the Wind

MICHAEL DOUGLAS JOINS THE TOO MANY VICTIMS CAMPAIGN
New Poster Released with Actor’s Pledge to Take a Stand on January 8, 2012 [More]
I see the self control-challenged U.N. "Messenger of Peace" still thinks it's about trying to control us--under force of government arms.

Hey, this one wasn't too hard to call:
What your son has really needed is for you to be a man of honor, one who understands and lives by principles of decency and restraint--instead of an out-of-control adolescent rabbit.
See?

So in other words, Sonny Boy was helping to perpetuate the gang violence that produces most of those "victims" you're lighting a candle for.  And your "solution," yet again, is to blame those of us who don't share in your wretched failures.

UPDATE: Comments troll outed as Bradyite.

  1. "Too Many Victims" takes the focus completely off the killers who pulled the triggers, so that the blame can be shifted to inanimate objects for despicable political reasons. That is immoral and wrong.
If they're really concerned about too many victims, and who wouldn't be, then they need to do something about there being too many killers, but that they will not do. Why is that? Not consistent with their gun ban agenda?

  2. I've always thought the Micheal Douglas is a pretty great actor. Too bad he's a piss-poor human being and a douchebag in real life. :-(

  3. Chas,

Have you had your guns taken away from you? Do you know a single law abiding citizen who has? No.

So please stop with the "gun ban" scare talk. The FBI recently reported record numbers for background checks which means record numbers of gun sales - which means that law abiding gun owners are not being deprived of their rights. They are buying MORE guns than ever before.

What is it about talking about victims that makes people like yourself so panic stricken? If true to your word, you really are concerned about victims, then the immoral and wrong thing to do is to hide behind paranoia as an excuse to do nothing.

You want to focus on the killers, then prove that you're not just talking out of your ass: What do YOU propose doing about the killers? And do you think that there is nothing that we can or should do BEFORE they BECOME killers?

  5. David,

Thank you for exposing yourself as a coward. By not posting my reply to Chas, you have revealed yourself to be irrelevant. I'm sure you'll make the lame excuse that my comment was anonymous - although that doesn't stop you from posting anonymous "yes men." But it's your blog. Slant it how you like.

But "resistance?" Against sycophants? Get real. Seriously, I'm not trying to bait you into posting my comments. You've actually saved me lots of time by confirming that I can safely ignore you as no threat. For that, I sincerely thank you.

    Goodbye!

  6. David,
Thanks for the morning chuckle. Being flamed by An "anonymous" poster accusing others for being cowardly is priceless ...

Simple. Tried and if found guilty, march them out on the court house steps and shoot them in the head. Problem solved.

And like the Sheep, know we're all gonna die.

    (Chorus)
    You know the Guuuns magic
    Makes them all go insane.

    Because of smaaall Peckers
    We'll all end up slain.

Can I have just have one more BloodDance with you
    My Love?

Can I just take all your guns from you

If all law abiding citizen went armed there would be very few killers because we would have shot them all and saved tax dollars for a trial too. It would also make would be killers think twice.
I consider it my duty as an American to go atmed.

All law abiding citizens going armed would solve the problem because all the killers would be dead, and also save tax dollars that would have been spent on a trial. I consider it ny duty as an American to go armed.

  13. Now, now - let's be gentle with the 'anonymous' multiple personality poster there.... he is sad because in Obama's economy, he was laid off of his job as a butt-plug tester at the Bawney Fwank Man of Luv Novelty company.

  14. When I was younger in the 70s here in rural NJ I could walk into any Sears or Agway or various other hardware or sporting goods stores and buy whatever rifle, shotgun and ammunition I decided I wanted, whether I intended it for hunting or target shooting or simple enjoyment of Constitutional rights. That has certainly been taken away from me.

  15. "Have you had your guns taken away from you? Do you know a single law abiding citizen who has? No."

Let's see; the inhabitants of New York, Chicago and D.C., where certain types of guns used to be available to the law-abiding and now are only available to the lawless; the state of California, where unregistered guns designated as "assault weapons" are required to be turned in for destruction or sent out of state (and can not be brought into the state, even if legally purchased in another state).... There are many other examples, but those should encompass enough law-abiding U.S. citizens to make the point that anonymous either hasn't a clue what s/he is talking about, or thinks you are too stupid to do fact-checking on your own.

  16. I was very pleased to find out years ago that Mr. Douglas does not share my own ancestry. His father adopted the name because at that time, in Hollywood, Polish ancestry was the kiss of death. Poles have more than their fair share of fire eaters and Clan Douglas has a long and storied past full of blackmailers, kidnappers, thieves and just plain nasty fellows, but to a man they stared Authoritah! in the face and told it to sod off.
Instead of helping the New Age Nazis herd honest people into cattle cars or lock them away because of their preferred recreational activities, man up, or as they (some) say in Poland, "Bij! Zabij!"
