If you own a gun, you can be a crime fighter, of sorts. We aren't in any way suggesting you use that gun against criminals — just that you help prevent criminals from using your gun. [More]Stop, or I'll make a list!
Not that you shouldn't as long as you can keep away from prying eyes, but what a ridiculous, prejudicial way to start this story.
Crime-fighting inventories are right up there with magical bullet-repelling orders of protection. Had a shotgun and a rifle stolen a few years ago. They were "inventoried"; serial numbers, descriptions, when/where/who/price purchased. The thief was even known. Yet, somehow, the guns were still stolen and never recovered.
