  1. Thanks- I always enjoy it when you post something that leads us to a better grasp of history. You know - when I was in school, back before Sputniks and transistor radios and such newfangled stuff, history, both US and world, was just such a dry, dull subject that I paid only enough attention to get good grades. Only in later years, when life's demands leave me so little time, have I learned what richness and enjoyment can be found in the study of this subject, and one of my few regrets is that I did not pursue the study more earnestly.
