S. 2424: A bill to extend the temporary suspension of duty on mixtures containing n-butyl-1,2-benzisothiazolin-3-one, 1-hydroxypyridine-2-thione, zinc salt, and application ... Now, I know Chucky has no idea of what this is about. Neither do I. Is there anyone who does??Here's the bill. Confusing to us laymen, ain't it?
I asked an industry source and was told:
It is a fungicide/antimicrobial for rubber and plastic products that yes, is registered as a pesticide. Not sure what is the real story behind the duty suspension or who now owns the rights to the molecule.Livonia Mark says these guys are involved. An enterprise ultimately serving the interests of these guys.
No word on what other influences may have been brought to bear, or who benefits financially...
Look, this could just be SOP, and tariff-finagling goes on all the time. Maybe this will benefit American constituents and the economy. Who knows?
That's the point.
