This is especially relevant and worrisome as [DC Bar] President Williamson made his strong personal feeling known in his inauguration speech, when he declared “Eric is a dear friend, and this nation is truly blessed to have a lawyer of his superb ability and exemplary integrity serving as the Attorney General.” [More]This afternoon's Gun Rights Examiner column asks what's the use of having cronies if you can't rely on cronyism?

DC Bar Counsel punts Holder ethics complaint amidst conflict of interest concern
"Like Firing Ten .30-06's at One Time"
Wow. I was laughing along with the shooters by the end of this. [Watch]
Except at $40/round, I don't think I'd be laughing paying for them.

Last Night on Armed American Radio
Mark Walters' guests included trainer Rob Pincus and "Newschick" Val DeOre. I came on in the second half of Hour 2 and stayed on for the Hour 3 Roundtable:
A Little Bird Told Me...
That the "E" function within the Bureau's title is worried that someone may find out something similar to what happened with guns and grenade components going to Mexico happened with what they're chartered with regulating...
Which could be an explosive story if it checks out...

At least that's what The New York Times wants us to believe.
You know, that paper of record that executive editor Jill Abramson says has no bias...?
My initial King Kong reaction hasn't gone away. I want to reshoot the firing machine guns from biplanes scene from the point of view of the people in building and on the ground...
Related: Several readers have referred me to forums where they discuss how the NYPD re-engineered their Glocks to have a 12-Lb. trigger pull to be more like their old S&Ws--I saw the cite for "'SPECIAL REPORT: FIREARMS' from Law and Order, Vol. 51, No.8 August 2003" as the source for that, but I can't find it online so I emailed the author, who has not replied. But last night on "Armed American Radio," trainer Rob Pincus confirmed the story.

Limited City
Another member, Jessica Negron, had a 23-year-old son named Darren who had dealt drugs in the past but was trying to get his life in order after a few run-ins with the law. He sometimes carried a gun; his mother found this out when she tried to mediate a dispute between Darren and another guy who said he was afraid Darren would shoot him. But he was apparently not carrying the gun when he visited an illegal liquor store on a January night in 2011. He was shot once and died. [More]Dang. Sounds like what we need is a one-gun-a-month law and other infringements that only apply to people whose lives are already in order.
S&W ought to just get out. Plenty of other places would love to have them.
Understatement of the Year
Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and law enforcement agencies has not fully succeeded in controlling the worst situation of law and order in the province from 2007 till to date. [More]3,000 murders, huh? So much for licensing and registration being a solution.
Railing Against Gravity
"Do we want to live in a society where the answer to violence is more violence?'' said Dan Gross, president of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence. [More]When it's happening, what other answer is there?
And I love the way "objective" Authorized Journalist Dan Freedman gives us the choice between John Lott being either a nutty fraud or just plain wrong.
Could a licensed concealed gun carrier stop a tragedy?
Maybe, maybe not. It depends on the specific circumstances, but it happens all the time. At least he or she would have a chance, while both the defense-disparaging Dans would be relegated to popping their Rapexes in impotent terror, utterly useless to themselves and to all others except the killer.
Issa to question OIG head as ATF pores over report
That makes Issa’s warning against delay all the more understandable, and further validates claims made over the weekend to this columnist by a past-proven source that there are “a lot of closed doors” at ATF Headquarters, as Acting Director B. Todd Jones, Deputy Director Thomas E. Brandon, the Chief Counsel’s office and relevant staffers are “poring” over a report said to be over 400 pages long. [More]This morning's Gun Rights Examiner report notes an inspector about to be inspected.
