These are the people you want to encourage; the ones that are a little afraid but learning to overcome their fear. Just because she is emotional and afraid of everything to the point of paranoia? She evidently doesn't have anything against firearms and is just afraid. Cut her some slack, she's trying.
I understand that you don't understand. And no, I won't cut any slack to any "adult" who enables the destroyers. There are plenty who do for the reasons you stated. Cut me some slack for being one who will not tolerate that.
I must have missed the part about her being an enabler. I read all the emotional and fear stuff but I missed the part where she is in favor of gun control. Please point it out so I can follow your logic. Personally, I don't think she should own a firearm. She is paranoid to the point of delusion and is more a risk to others than most.
She is a self-identified "lefty." Her "single issue" position is irrelevant. The politicians "leftys" support and enable pass edicts that destroy people's lives for exercising a right.
Robin, I'm guessing that the single issue Mr. Codrea (hee hee) is addressing is that "lefty" is effectively synonymous with an enabler of criminal overreach by government, aka tyranny.
All authority for US governments being delegated from the consent of the governed means that such governments' authority cannot exceed that of a single person. When such a "lefty" supports politicians that claim powers that you as a normal person cannot, it enables widespread criminal behavior by governments in the form of mass NSA spying, civil asset forfeiture/theft, destruction of helpful economies to serve the priviledged few, oppressive taxation (50-88% consumed), unaccountable government enforcers, and much more.
I'd also be surprised if David didn't consider a large percentage of "conservatives" to be just as big a threat to freedom as the "lefty" in this article. I know I do.
I get the "lefty" thing now. Thank you for explaining. Unfortunately, I still disagree. You shouldn't vilify anyone by grouping them with others that believe in a few common areas. By Mr. Codrea's logic, anyone that says they're a christian supports the Westboro Baptist Church. The analogy can be applied to just about any group or situation. It's wrong and you shouldn't do it.
You're free to disagree all you want. If you want to welcome Obama and Hillary supporters because they like to shoot, go for it. I don't. I'm sure most would agree with you and I'm in the minority, so to get back to your original admonition, cut me some slack -- or don't.
Wow. Sir, Your change is becoming apparent. I asked very politely and then explained why I think you are wrong. Your reply reminds me of Charles Johnson at Little Green Footballs. What do Hillary and Obama supporters have to do with my comments? You wanted to hurl an invective but changed your mind. It won't be long until you, too, are unhinged by those that disagree with you. You are becoming what you hate. I'm sorry for you. I don't expect you to publish this but I do want to prod your brain so you don't lose it completely, like Johnson.
Robin - take a look at the Democrat Party Platform. It favors "gun control" and a return to the so-called "assault weapons ban." Being a "lefty" and voting for "lefty" candidates is a vote for that position, like it or not.
As for the author being "pro choice" by stating she's a "lefty" - IMO, she is likely NOT actually "pro-choice": https://www.lewrockwell.com/2015/05/douglas-young/how-to-define-pro-choice/
As for anyone who is a "christian" (sic) supporting the Westboro Baptist Church, that's a non-sequitur if there ever was one. Especially when Mr. Codrea gave you an example - to wit: "She is a self-identified "lefty." Her "single issue" position is irrelevant. The politicians "leftys" support and enable pass edicts that destroy people's lives for exercising a right."
Incidentally, you're pulling the Westboro Baptist Church out as an example of a typical Christian organization that most Christians would support illustrates how thin the logic you're skating on truly is. If you don't understand what "lefty" "Obama" and "Hillary" have in common, and that bringing that up is akin to being a "hater" well, wow. THAT makes everything you stated make perfect, Prozi sense.
"At least part of the trembling left in my arms when I shoot is the realization that it would be so easy – so simple and easy – to turn out the side of my cubby in the range and shoot someone next to me."
"Here’s the other dirty truth about shooting a gun: it is as terrifying as it is fun. At least part of the trembling left in my arms when I shoot is the realization that it would be so easy – so simple and easy – to turn out the side of my cubby in the range and shoot someone next to me."
That speaks volumes. I've often wondered about the difference in thought processes/mindset between most of the folks I know who are gun owners and the people who fear them. That statement sheds a bit of light on the subject. I've been shooting and handling guns for more than 50 years, and that thought has never crossed my mind. Not once.

R is either stupid beyond belief or a troll. Either way he's wasting your time, probably intentionally.
