A Viable Alternative?

I've just been told about Full30 as an alternative to YouTube for gun videos. [More]

A couple things:

I tried embedding a video in Blogger and their embed code results in a player with several (and I mean a lot) inches of black space above and below, and I see nothing in the html I can remove to fix that (bearing in mind my capabilities in that regard are really limited.)

Also, one of the big issues destroying YouTubers is no longer being allowed to monetize their videos, effectively shutting them down by impoverishing them.  I didn't see anything about that through a quick scan of the Full30 t's & c's.

If you have knowledge about either of these concerns, please educate me in "Comments."

  1. Full30 need to get into advertisement contracts with a few gun manufacturers and suppliers. Then monetization can start.

Making their site a subscription based model won't really work long-term

  2. As a relatively young offering, they’re much more likely to respond to you personally and efficiently if you bring the margin problem directly to their attention. On the monetization issue, I’m not the guy, but certainly you could ask while you have their attention on the other issue.

  3. My blogging uses videos and photos, and I don't know how much of that you may have done. On the Blogger Posting page, I will write on the Compose tab, click down a couple spaces and then click the HTML tab. I can drop the HTML code below the break markers. YouTube is making the videos 560 wide now, and I set my blog up with the space at 480 back when YT was 420. I have to change the width number down to 480 or the right side of the video is out of frame without the YouTube logo, which is needed for the YT attribution.

Full 30 uploading is by invitation only at this time, so I can't post there, but I understand expansion is in the works. Daily Motion is another video hoster (In France) and I have an account there as a safety measure. They are now monetizing accounts, but I have not delved into that.

YouTube has made big changes that affect little accounts like mine. I was getting around $200 per month, with a combination of shooting videos and chainsaw videos. When they turned negative on us it dropped to about $100, and that is mostly coming from the chainsaw videos. Smaller accounts than mine have been hit, too. A friend of mine who does a few engine videos had $96 in his account and thought he would get a little check the next month. YT contacted him and informed him he did not have enough views to be monetized. They cut him off and did not pay him the balance.

I don't know what I should do with my shooting videos. They might cause my account to be cancelled, and I don't want that. The new conditions YT has published show that they can be ambiguous as they wish in enforcing rules. I hope we have a few days to figure things out.

  4. As already noted, Fill 30 is invitation only at this time and I THINK that was initially to guarantee that new accounts there had at least some following to bring along; but also, a very friendly new video platform for the First and Second Amendments , is BitChute. I don't know anything about monetization, etc., but they will not censor or restrict anything you wish to post.
Although these things are all starting small, I AM encouraged by Gab, MeWe, BitChute and others; they will grow as more and more people turn away from the repugnant policies of repression and outright persecution, experienced by American patriots on the older social(ist) media.
