  1. surveys are meaningless now, and have been for some time. The give no political cover, and the offer no tangible resource to use to gauge a politician’s willingness to uphold their oath.

Sure, the words on pro-gun surveys are less ambiguous and more clear, but in today’s world all the politician has to do is be able to go 15 seconds in obfuscation. Politicians are masters at bloviating for long periods of time, but actually saying nothing.

Bill Clinton rules now apply. You can say anything you want to get elected, like say proposing a tax cut, but in fact implementing the largest tax increase in the history of mankind and still suffer no political penalty.

Gun rights groups are too singularly focused on “surveys” and results that really give no indication of how someone will vote, what they will support, and are basically useless as leverage.

Candidate surveys are Gun Rights Theater, touted by people interested solely in their own glory as a “champion” of other’s rights. Really, surveys, results, and do nothing for advancing gun rights.
