They're OK
Just messaged Michael Dukes after hearing about the Alaska quake. He tells me it's the biggest one he's been in and the epicenter was 5 miles from his house, which was "shook up [and] kind of trashed." But importantly, they're all OK.
I thought his friends here would want to know.
Growing Pains
Republicans lost control of the House of Representatives this year due to a big jump in liberal Millennials moving to the suburbs to buy houses, start families, and begin the transition into conservatives. [More]That last observation is key. But it doesn't matter.
They're being outbred.

Messing with the Wrong People
EXCLUSIVE: FBI RAIDS HOME OF WHISTLEBLOWER ON CLINTON FOUNDATION, LAWYER SAYS [More]That's a big reason we were so protective of our Gunwalker sources, who we knew were being looked for, and why we were so focused on securing congressional protection. That's also why we were so persistent in trying to get other journalists to validate our claims independently, because it was a period of no small amount of nervousness on just what it all could mean for us.

It's the End of the World as We Know It

Who Says Housing Discrimination is a Thing of the Past?
"What I find uncomfortable is coming home to find out that six people I barely know went into my bedroom without permission and went through every single one of my drawers, without any regard to my privacy whatsoever," Pirnie said. "My landlord's e-mail, though carefully crafted, showed tremendous prejudice against my right to legally have firearms." [More]Yes, "progressives" are obsessive busybodies who only care about privacy for what they approve of. Same as with speech.
That said, I've shared college housing in my day and locked my door when I left, which would have made an intrusion B&E meriting a police report. At the time I had no valuables worth extra measures, but if I'd had a gun I knew enough so it would not have been anywhere unsecured to find.
And this business of her being liable for the rest of the geese breaking leases they signed is a BS bluff. The landlord's actions add credence to the critiques.

One Last Time: The Executive Branch Cannot Ban Bump Stocks [More]Agreed. Except for this:
Congress, not the executive branch, has to make this change.Delegated authority...?

Mike Strickland Update
Those of you who have followed the abuse of Mike Strickland by Portland thugs and the corrupt “Justice” system in Multnomah County, Oregon may have been wondering where his case stands. [More]Includes a link to a video where you can hear from the man himself...
All the Signs Were There
Police say that on Thanksgiving Day, Marcos Orozco used a stolen pickup to smash through the front of a pawn shop in the 2900 block of South College Avenue. Fort Collins Police believe Orozco stole firearms from the shop and left. Later, police were able to contact Orozco in the stolen truck, but Orozco fled. Minutes later, the multi-car collision occurred. [More]Read the rest of his record on this serial defect -- what more does one need to do to prove they can't be trusted without a custodian?

Third Time's a Charm!
Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) is officially opposing Trump judicial nominee Thomas Farr, a controversial pick who Democrats argue has systematically stripped African Americans of their voting rights — meaning his nomination will likely fail. [More]Yeah, how dare you expect a voter to prove who he is and that he's eligible! And what could be more "disenfranchising" than requiring ID (except, evidently, when it comes to buying a gun)?
It's not the first time he's disappointed.
Or the second:
What was it Goldfinger said?

Clean-Up on Aisle Four
Man accidentally shoots himself in groin inside Arizona Walmart ... Police said the victim was carrying an unholstered handgun in the front of his sweatpants, and it fired as he tried to reposition the weapon to keep it from falling... [More]What a dumb-ass.
So isn't this proof that not everyone should have a gun?
Who says otherwise (except for lying antis trying to make people think we do)? And why is that a claim on me?
If we're going to rely on anecdotes about abuse and negligence to impose broader disarmament, have I got a deserving group for you! Me, I'll stick with disqualifying actions and due process, thank you very much.

Illegal Alien Sues U.S. Government For Millions After Her Previously Detained Toddler Dies [More]Because dragging her along and exposing her to the elements and lack of sanitary conditions, along with diseased fellow caravan travelers couldn't possibly have meant she was beyond saving due to the mother's actions.
I'll bet the story of how she and Peabody's Boy Sherman here became a team would be telling.

We're the Only Ones Denying Enough
No, the city told Schmid, it will not release the report written by the officer who shot Albers, describing the use of lethal force. No, the public cannot see the investigative file compiled by the Johnson County Officer-Involved Shooting Investigation Team that reviewed the actions of the police officer who shot Albers. And, no, the Overland Park Police Department’s own internal reviews won’t be made public either. [More]Who does that "citizens' group" think the enforcers work for?

We're the Only Ones Non-Collaborative Enough
Four St. Louis police officers were indicted Thursday on federal charges claiming that three of them beat an undercover colleague during protests last year and all four then covered it up, federal prosecutors say. [More]He's lucky they didn't shoot him.

Survey SAYS...
The team is taking a comprehensive look at the MetroLink system from a security angle including technology, environmental design and human capital deployment. [More]In other words, looking at it from a freedom angle is off the table.
Anybody else find the term "human capital" more than a little bit Marxist? I'm old enough to remember when "Human Resources" was called "Personnel," with the function of matching qualified individuals to open positions, and before the humiliating kneeling and forelock-tugging serf ritual of peeing in a cup to demonstrate subservience and surrender of your very being.
For some reason "Where do you see yourself in five years?" comes to mind.

Child Sacrifice: A 'Progressive' Idea Whose Time has Come
Parents of elementary school students in Jacksonville, Fla., are suing the county school board over a new policy that allows certain school employees to carry concealed guns. A 'Pro-Gun Democrat'
Jeff Van Drew, N.J. pro-gun Democrat, challenged on NRA contributions [More]But he sponsored a bump stock ban bill, voted "Yea" on prohibiting "3D printed firearms," due-process-denying ERPOs and prior restraints on transfers, and says he would have voted against Kavanaugh...
Sure, he votes gun owners' way sometimes. That's kind of like saying a cheating wife satisfies hubby when it's his turn.
There is no such thing as a "pro-gun Democrat." And yes, no need to lecture me on Republicans.
Pending Trump Bump Stock Ban Won’t Satisfy Enemies but Will Alienate Allies
It’s unclear what the president hopes to accomplish by alienating his strongest supporters at a time he is being closed in on from all sides by powers intent on destroying him. If he believes this will satisfy the gun-grabbers and make them go away, that ignores everything about their incremental tactics. Experience shows they will take a piece here and a “compromise” there, and then use that position to launch their next demand for more. [More]When you're surrounded by circling jackals is the wrong time to be driving away those inclined to be friends.
