OTOH, you can kind of understand why few would want to commemorate an event where supposedly loyal citizens/subjects opened fire on their own troops.
And speaking of the teaching of myths instead of historical facts, Paul Revere most likely didn't yell "To arms! To arms! The British are coming!" (hint: he and most of the people who would likely hear his warning considered themselves to be British).
