Firearms Friday Redux

Here's my segment on this morning's broadcast of The Michael Dukes Show for anyone who missed it live and wants to hear what we talked about:

Monopoly

Washington, D.C.’s only federally licensed gun dealer Charles Sykes is no longer accepting firearms for transfers, meaning residents can’t legally buy new handguns in D.C., he told the Daily Caller Thursday. [More]
That's one way to do it.

I forget how this situation arose-- is he just the only one because no one else wanted to get in the business, or is there some kind of ordinance naming him the official dispenser of rights?

In any case, it'll be a relief to see headlines like this go away for a while.

What?

The Cost of 'Cheap Labor'

Most of their answers had to do with demographics and aging, with Italy having a much larger proportion of senior citizens than other countries. None of them, however, made mention of the tens of thousands of Chinese laborers working in clothing plants in northern Italy, where their COVID-19 outbreak was first detected in February. [More]
So there is a price.  Just not one reflected on the tag or paid by the profiteers.

The Voice of Moderation

"If the legislature and the governor, before they go home this week, if they don't change the statute to allow for an all-mail election system for the primary and the general election this year, they should be shot." [Watch]
So this guy is "one of the last moderates"? Can you imagine the howls for his head if someone along the lines of a Tucker Carlson said that?

Blinding Us with Science

“One thing is clear, those who kept insisting that the ‘white lab coat guys’ be in charge of this health emergency should all shut up once and for all.  It is in the job description of bureaucrat scientists at the Food and Drug Administration that they be risk averse, and this very aversion is an obstacle to taking every step to avert a disaster that these very public health experts claim may kill more than a million Americans. [More]

Well-researched and well-presented...

It's nice to know not all young people have been brainwashed into ceding their birthrights.

It's incumbent on us to encourage more to step forward and to start assuming leadership roles among their peers. That means it's up to you to offer this remarkable young man a word of encouragement and to back those words up by helping him spread his message far and wide.

Consider that today's "Five Minute Activism" project.

If the people who pay for the rides want to foot the bill, fine.

If they don't, I guess somebody's gotta make some decisions about what they have invested in themselves to be marketable.

Firearms Friday

I'll be joining Michael Dukes again this morning at 10:24 Eastern to talk about the current gun events I've been covering and whatever else he wants to bring up.

You can find a local radio station in Alaska or listen via live stream on the show's website.

I always have fun talking to this guy.  I hope people have fun listening.
